There's no concrete hard and fast rule about girl + boy being more peaceful. There are several members here who have two or more girls and they have a very peaceful home! Sometimes it just depends on the individual Yorkies' personalities. Sometimes it depends on situations. It's very possible that something may have happened between the two of them and you may not be aware.

I always say that the best thing to do is preventative measures, which applies to anything when it comes to dogs. Always reinforce the good and always prevent the 'bad'.

Take a deep breathe and have patience with them. It'll all work out in the end. Just go slow and steady and never rush them into getting along. You'll get there one day.

For me, my two little ones got along after a very very slow transition. They will play fight. When it sounds like they're playing too rough, I stop them and tell them "enough". But they only get to interact with each other when I'm home. When I'm away, they're always separated.
