Unlove Rest In Peace Bear

I'm trying to wake-up from this horrible nightmare in which my Yorkie named Bear passed away. But, it's not a nightmare and Bear is gone.

Bear was born Dec. 8, 2011 and died October 26, 2016. He was the best companion that I could have ever asked for. He was mild mannered, obedient and loving and I don't know why he's dead.

Bear was very healthy. He had no ailments and wasn't taking any regular medications. But, about 2 weeks ago he woke up with a stiff neck. I thought it would go away, so I wasn't worried. After about one week, he was still displaying signs of pain. On Friday, Oct. 21, I took him to the vet because I was becoming concerned about how long his neck was bothering him. He was prescribed Methocarbamol and Metacam. I expected that after 2-3 days he would begin to show some signs of improvement but he wasn't so on Tuesday, October 25, I took him back to the vet. He was then prescribed Tramadol and Prednisone. Shortly after administering the medication, he had a seizure. I immediately called the vet and was told to take him to a specialist that he might have a neurological issue. The seizure stopped so I made him comfortable. About an hour later he began to have more severe seizures so I wrapped him in a blanket and we sped off to the emergency vet. They took him in immediately but could only guess about what was causing the seizures since he had no history of seizures. His first seizures ever were on Tuesday. The emergency vet felt that he needed fluids so an IV was started. He believed that if he stopped the seizures and got Bear to sleep & relax that we could then look to see if we could find the cause of the prolonged stiff neck and the seizures.

He recommended that I go home and rest and come back to pickup Bear at 7am. At 1:30am Bear went into cardiac arrest and was given CPR for about 30 mins. but he was unable to be revived. Bear passed away at 2:03am.

One day my Bear was healthy and living a good life and within a few days, he's dead and I really don't know why. The last speculation was that he either had an aneurism or a stroke.

I am so sad because Bear was still just a young, healthy dog and now all I have are ashes! What happened to my Bear? Does anyone have any input that can help give me some peace?

I'm so lost without him. I do have other dogs including one that is his daughter. I'm trying to make sure that they don't get too depressed from missing him. Each of my dogs has a unique personality and when one is gone the pack changes. Right now Bear should be sitting next to me on the couch, as he would always squeeze into the smallest space just to be next to me.

Missing my Bear-Bear
