Default Agressive with puppies

Hi,

I have. 2 year old Yorkie. According to the breeder we boarded him with while on holidays last week, he's not dominant and gets along well with the adult Yorkies they had. However they found him agressive with the puppies.

We've been offerred a male Yorkie pup from our neighbour in a few weeks. We know the mother dog well and want a companion for our dog. Winters are long and cold here and having a playmate could really help our dog stay healthy when he can't go on walks. And we've always wanted two dogs.

We realize it could take months before the two dogs would be truly friendly and we have lots of puppy playpen fencing to keep them separate when we're not around -- though we're retired and home most of the time.

Is the puppy something we should consider? Is it too dangerous? Are there things we should do to make things work?

Thanks.

Linda
