Calling all potty trainers out there! We should all throw out tips that are working. These yorkies being smarter than us and so darn cute it's hard to scold so we need to unite against these beasts! We need to combine all our smarts to outwit these adorable creatures.
My saga began 3 months ago. About a month ago Max exhibited a knowledge unlike his baby self that he knew right from wrong, so I thought!
He's been scheming to see exactly how far he can go and not live in a crate. I'm keep telling him I'm going to buy a kennel, just so I can threaten "get in your kennel" but that would mean I have a kennel sitting around and it doesn't go with my house decor
He has 2 sister dogs, not the same as sister wives you know, that have been giving him pointers. But I'm thinking their play yard we built for them has too long of grass. Husband has to mow one more time. I guess I wouldn't want to poop with grass up my butt either, know what I mean!
He likes to go in the front yard but there is leaves, birds, the homeless cat in our yard to chase but he does tend to go potty even if it's on our front door mat...better than in the house. But don't come to our house and take off your shoes outside unless you want to step in pee on the porch!
He holds it all night sleeping like a prince in our down comforter on our bed. So why can't he go for a couple hours during the day. I've noticed that when I leave him for a hour now he scolds me when I get home and there is a little treat he leaves me by the door 😠 Every time. I can't kennel him since he has never been kenneled and the other dogs would freak out because he throws temper tantrums. Since he found a nest of baby bunnies dead under our deck the back yard is off limits.
I will need to shrink his area he is in so I can see him getting up then stand my grounds and he doesn't come in till he goes! Any other tips? |
