**So duh-to-me, when re-reading above, light bulb moment.. maybe Piper's first couple of years were ones of semi-confinement and puppies? She is totally dog friendly and has never reacted to any excited barking, yelping in-yard dogs--at allll. And whereas, initially, Pipe was quite shy with people--submissive and a bit reluctant, nowadays I happily apologize for her rather pushy behavior in going up to fellow shoppers. Soo, I wonder if it makes any sense to think that perhaps she just doesn't ever want anyone else to have complete and utter control over her little self--thus 'explaining' the bomb-proof side of her not hearing or acknowledging me (again, expected but doesn't happen all the time). And now I really will shut-up cuz geez, I make myself nuts |

. In terms of analyzing these kiddos and trying to figure them out. Like us, they are indeed complex little beings and have their reasons for the way they behave, though they can't tell us about it...SO wish they could!
I'm constantly trying to figure out my little neurotic, dramatic Chi, Arthur, whom I got at age 6 from the shelter where I volunteer. He has many, many, many stories and mysteries inside of him...which I can only guess at. I wish he could tell me what happened to him in his past...I have some ideas about it, but gosh, who knows...?!?
