I find your replies very interesting since my experience with LQ was much different. Maybe it was because we are on the east coast or maybe it was because it was a holiday weekend. We traveled to Florida via the I-95 corridor and planned for our trip to take two nights. We did not make reservations since we did not know how far we could get on day 1. Turns out that we stopped sooner than expected due to heavy rain and fog. The LQ we went to wanted $45 per dog. We have two. It was Dec 29 - they told us it was holiday. We left and stayed at Best Western for $10 per dog. The next night we again tried LQ. This time they refused to accommodate the dogs at all, so again we stayed at Best Western. Nice, clean, great breakfast and very dog friendly. Four months later we headed home and passed up LQ for Best Western. Just our experience.
