a dog of any age can have a broken tooth- believe me you will never be able to tell by behavior even though it must hurt like crazy.
I have fostered dozens of mill puppies over the years and can only recommend that you get the teeth of a puppy checked regularly ... dogs don't show pain the way we do...Some dogs have better teeth than others ... our vet owns a puppy from a show breeder ( ethical breeder- good reputation) - long pedigrees - no health issues and he told me that his girl has the worst teeth - had to get 2 molars pulled before age 2. |
Mine has had two broken teeth one I saw her do it on a bully stick the other I noticed the same day. She was acting a lot different and I could just tell something was wrong. Minus orthopedic surgeries and if there was a weird tooth issue I would let my vet take care of dental issues and stuff because she knows me and my dogs well. She knows their history's and I know they have the proper anesthesia protocol. I also trust her. At the end of the day it really all comes back to genetics on teeth. My moms little old guy had to have a dental every year even after I was brushing and giving chews. Bad breath is just really normal for teething puppies. Normally it would mean an issue in non puppies.
