with doggie dentist I mean a vet that also does teeth ( for a decent price :-) ) - we have a vet close to our home that is great for well visits and such but charges 3 times the amount our " doggie dentist" charges ( specialized practice who only does vaccinations and dentals) ...Normally vets also take care of teeth but it is worth getting some quotes and shop around when you have more than one little one ;-)
a dog of any age can have a broken tooth- believe me you will never be able to tell by behavior even though it must hurt like crazy.
I have fostered dozens of mill puppies over the years and can only recommend that you get the teeth of a puppy checked regularly ... dogs don't show pain the way we do...Some dogs have better teeth than others ... our vet owns a puppy from a show breeder ( ethical breeder- good reputation) - long pedigrees - no health issues and he told me that his girl has the worst teeth - had to get 2 molars pulled before age 2. |
