You don't really need a vet dentist unless your dog has a really weird or serious dental issue. Callie broke a tooth and I went a little crazy and went to a vet dentists over an hour away to "save" the tooth with a dog root canal and it cost over $1,000 and she would have been fine just having it pulled.
