Be very, very careful with scissors. Use a mustache trimmer instead. Always work flat against the ear flap, front and back. Don't run the trimmer up the edge of the ear. The ear edge should not be perpendicular to the trimmer or it might get caught in the trimmer.

If his ear was up before, I would guess that teething is affecting it now.
