I agree with Ann that it could be tension from the bow, but if it is an almost perfectly round spot, ringworm or another skin ailment is a concern. I would have the vet take a look.
Max has a very heavy topknot, although we use scrunchies most of the time, so probably not as much tension. So far, no skin discolorations.
