I've only ever had boys. All extremely affectionate. I've regularly babysat two females for my friends. While friendly they were more independent and aloof. They were affectionate sometimes when they felt like it but not nearly with the same level of affectionnas my boys and my boys are always affectionate 24/7. But who knows, that might just be because the girls weren't MY dogs.
I've also heard boys tend to be more attached to the woman of the household and females tend to get more attached to the man. I believe this is true from what I've seen from both mine and my friends' yorkies.
