Thank you for the welcome

I have to say that Pete and I have been totally bowled over by Wookie. Although only 20 weeks old now, she is feisty, sociable, intelligent and has definitely changed the preconceptions of everyone she meets about Yorkies. She loves everyone, has no fear of other dogs, doesn't yap, doesn't mind the rain, was house trained within a week, and at her first proper dog training class last week was better behaved and better trained than dogs who had been attending for much longer. The most common comments we get from other people are :

'She's so friendly'

'She doesn't yap!' (Well, actually she does, but only when she wants a wee and the back door is closed!)

'She has so much energy'

'She's so brave'

'She's so well behaved'

'I can't believe how fast she can run'

'I can't believe she's so good so young'

'She's adorable' (We hear that about twenty times a day!)

'She's changed my opinion about Yorkies. I will seriously think about having one'

'I want to take her home' (Also about twenty times a day!)

Pete and I put a lot of effort into socialising her right from the start, when we got her at 8 weeks old. We attend a lot of car shows and are parked up all day as a display vehicle, so we bought a folding pen, a large groudsheet to keep her off the grass until she'd had all her injections, and just took her with us. She met literally hundreds of people, both children and adults, in those first few weeks, and was a bigger attraction than the cars in many cases.

Although she couldn't mix with other dogs until she'd had her last jab at 13 weeks, she could at least see them from her pen, and get used to them. She's taken in her (admittedly rather short ) stride cars, motorbikes, tractors, helicopters, taxying fighter planes, explosions, live bands and a very curious horse. She's played perfectly happily with other dogs ranging from another Yorkie (one of her sisters) to a Rottie, and I have to say all of the other dogs she's met and played with have been a credit to their owners and perfectly patient and gentle with her. We appreciate that she IS fragile and are always aware of the potential for injury, but she is also a puppy, and needs to be allowed to play in as safe a way as possible.

Blimey, I have been waffling on. I'll keep the rest short. She lives with three cats, all of whom are both amused and bemused by her. I cook all of her food myself, and she currently weighs 2.8 kg, or 5.5 pounds, so is probably going to be at the largest end of the scale when she's fully grown. Her Mum was 3.5 kg, 7 pounds, although her Dad was only 1.5 kg, just a shade over 3 pounds. Both parents are family pets, in fact I work with the girl who has her Mum, Lucky, as well as a girl who took one of her sisters, so we have regular 'Yorkie updates' at work

I'll shup up now, before you are all totally bored.

Just one more pic, from our holiday a couple of weeks ago.

'Run away, Mum. It's gonna get us!'
