I've used them on fosters who would not quit marking.

Definitely shave the belly area clean. It will attract pee and cause urine burns. You'll want to have a few to change out and wash often if there's any leakage. Wipe belly area clean too.

I would use an incontinence pad- I used regular feminine pads because I had them around and they weren't quite absorbent enough.
