Default Chester has a broken lower jaw

my 16 year old yorkie Chester fell down the stairs last Monday and broke his lower jaw. He was able to eat soft food and drink water so we decided to wait to see before we made a decision. We have taken him to the vet 3 times. Each time I'm told his vitals are normal and he is not in any pain.

Has anyone had this happen? He is also blind but has such a will to live. My vet knows how much he is loved and says as long as he eats and drinks he can survive. There has been some bleeding but it stops. Surgery is not option as my vet days he has too much bone loss from not having any teeth. I rescued Chester 14 years ago.
