Poor Maggie! Max and Teddy have each had incidents of serious neck/shoulder strains. With Max, the vet said there was a possibility of a disc issue. He was given a steroid and a muscle relaxer, and we kept him quiet for a couple days.
I agree with Ann about trying the meds first. I would also limit her activity, enforce rest, no running, jumping, or stairs.
