I agree that when 'looking' for a specific breed, the breed Standard 'should' probably be what we 'should' look for when choosing a puppy. However, I would not 'try' to 'restrain' prick ears from achieving their correct upright position, even if I 'preferred' the 'down ear' look. 'Genetics' will make the final decision.

I don't think there is anything more beautiful than a Yorkie that meets the Standard, but I also don't think there is anything more beautiful than a Yorkie that doesn't meet the Standard.

My Yorkie 'kids' had loving homes before coming to live with me as adults, and they are all different, but I am thrilled with how each of my little loves looks, and here's why...left to right, my 'prissy baby boy'...full tail, down ears, long coat; my 'Miss Hyperactive'...down ears, all golden, long coat; and my 'Dora the Explorer'...up ears, long coat.

Your baby will be gorgeous...like all Yorkies!
