I can imagine how heavily this is weighing on you. I don't have any advice other than maybe trying to visit as often as possible to give him loving. Maybe your presence would help reassure him. There is likely a recovery element too from such a big surgery, and the changes.
Jack and you are in my prayers for him to start eating soon so that he can come home to you. He is a lucky boy to have such a loving mom to get him the care he needs.
