I don't want to scare you either, but my 5 year old had been healthy her whole life, and in a matter of just a couple of months she died.

Her's also started with diarrhea. She spent 3 days in ICU at Purdue University, and then at home with us trying everything they said to do.

We cancelled a vacation because we didn't want to stress her.

I have no idea what I would have done if all this happened while I were away from home.

Good luck with your decision, it's so hard to know what to do when they are so little and rely on us to be their voice.
