Granted, totally different dog, but I took my friend's Rottweiler puppy in to be neutered first thing in the morning and brought him home early the same afternoon. Dudley was bouncing around like a dang tennis ball, happy as a lark and a total goof. I called vet because I simply could not keep him "down" and was worried; vet said if he was behaving like that he must be feeling pretty good, keep an eye on him and not to worry. I am a total mess when Piper is anything but herself, so I get your concerns, truly! I think you'll both be fine and it's great you're being responsible in getting your sweet boy "fixed."
