"Bully-Breeds" can be a docile as lambs and little yorkies can be as ferocious as lions. It's all a matter of the temperament of the dog, it's silly to paint ANY breed with such a broad brush or force any to be "muzzled" in public unless they individually have been proven to be prone to aggressive behavior. For a tiny Yorkie, going up against a big lab or a German shepherd could be just as bad as going up against a pit bull.
Bottom line, its safer to take your dog on a walk on a leash, and if your dog needs to run, find a friend's big yard or a wide open space where you don't have to worry about other dogs. |
First of all my Yorkie. Did not go out against a bully breed which is why I short tied him into the picnic bench as the first order of business, so that he could not. My old large Guard n protect breed was the one the bully went after .. See my avatar. To get some sense of how large this breed is. My old boy is over one hundred pounds.
In terms of muzzling that bully dog has just shown to me he should be. I am not on board with automatic muzzle laws, but in this case it is warranted. Unprovoked that bully crossed 300feet of ground on his immediate entrance to attack my playing dog.
Usually this leash free have owners with friendly dogs which is why I go there. And don't condemn all leash free. Truly there is nowhere one hundred percent safe to either walk or let your dog roam free.
