Yorkie's are very small, they may think they are tough guys but going up against a "bully-breed" that's 60 lbs of solid muscle is not a good idea. Leash-free parks are a recipe for disaster with ANY dog, and possibly deadly for a toy breed.
"Bully-Breeds" can be a docile as lambs and little yorkies can be as ferocious as lions. It's all a matter of the temperament of the dog, it's silly to paint ANY breed with such a broad brush or force any to be "muzzled" in public unless they individually have been proven to be prone to aggressive behavior. For a tiny Yorkie, going up against a big lab or a German shepherd could be just as bad as going up against a pit bull.
Bottom line, its safer to take your dog on a walk on a leash, and if your dog needs to run, find a friend's big yard or a wide open space where you don't have to worry about other dogs. |
