I agree, mix the commands. I had the same thing with Cody, first sit, then down. When it's only 2 commands they have learned they do anticipate what the 2nd will be. It gets easier when they have learned 3 commands, but always mix them up. Cody goes through all his commands every night for treat time and I mix them.
