I understand now, having a double or undercoat because of the Chihuahua genes. Seasonal shedding would be normal then, and probably greater chance of hair breakage with the combination of genes.
Look at the bright side. She is adorable and really pulls off the short hair style well. Highlights those sweet eyes and adorable nose.
