My Cookie has been on a home cooked diet since 2011. It was formulated by a vet nutritionist and uses Balance It. She has lymphangectasia and IBD and recently had a bout of pancreatitis. I credit her diet with her longevity with these conditions. Cathy (107barney) has used Balance It for a long time.

I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I simply won't follow the advice of anyone/vet or otherwise who calls themselves nutritionists for animals who are not members of ACVN. They could be good, but it is just my choice/ comfort level. Balance It has a vet nutritionist on staff and he is very receptive to questions. I recently contacted him after Cookie had a relapse and also pancreatitis...but they don't do formulations for sick pups. I ended up using Dr. Lisa Weeth DVM, DACVN (her website is: https://weethnutrition.wordpress.com/ )... it was a teleconsult that Cookie's internal specialist uses. She was recommended by the previous nutritionist who now works for Royal Canin. Her website has some really interesting information about diet and supplements for dogs..and also information on the qualifications of nutritionists and how to find someone.
