I give my 4 kiddos heartworm prevention every single month. I could also follow this protocol and give it 8 mths out of the year. But in reality, my dogs do just fine on it...and I think it's almost easier to just give it every single month...know what I mean? But this is a great option, nonetheless - AND would save money!
