I think they can go into heat as young as 6 months, Twinkie is over a year old and has not gone into heat yet. If you're desperate for something to put on her you can go buy newborn baby diapers and cut out a hole for her tail. If you can wait, they are some YTers that sell doggy diapers. You could also try petsmart, they have doggy diapers there too. Just line the doggy diapers with a piece of a pad & change it a few times a day.
