 Possible luxating patella
My vet said my 8 month old Beiwer has a grade 3 in her left back leg and a grade 2 in her right back leg. I see no limping , carrying of the leg , lameness or problems. I wonder if the vets almost force it out and can make it worse. Most dogs I have seen with this will tend to walk on 3 legs or do a hop thing. She seems to use it normally, it does have a little bow in it. Thinking about getting another opinion, but would not tend to rush to surgery, as I have had dogs that had this and never want lame to 15 and 17 years. Pretty upset with the breeder if this is the case, it seems the dad is certified, and the mom had an accident that she is saying caused her patella to luxate. I found this out after the pup was diagnosed. I can' t imagine why she would breed this dog if she couldnt possibly know if this was genetic or and injury. |
