It is best the dog gets a better home if the owner does not love him anymore. We can't persuade someone to love when love is not in their heart. What's worse is abandonment, and it not getting a chance to be loved. A lot of Americans including me treat our pets like children but realistically I know it's an animal that I spoil. People see pets differently. There are extremes on both sides. I have seen it.
