I'm hoping he produces tonight to ease your mind. If he is still feeling a little down from tummy problems, don't push the walking too much.
You can also try giving him a bottom wash. Sometimes soaking a little in warm water will help. With my Teddy, I can gently clean his backend with a cotton ball and that will usually stimulate him to go.
If your baby likes car rides, a ride might produce the excitement that sometimes stimulates the urge to go.
If he doesn't produce by tomorrow, I would follow your vet's recommendation to bring him in for another check.
