Yes I've spent a lot on that medication too and it didn't work that great for my dog. The injectable that they give at the vet is much more potent than the pills. I had my dog on higher doses...he was 9 lbs and took about triple the dose of your dog. My dog was kept alive on hycodan and it was much cheaper and more effective for him. However I had all the drugs on hand for him, and ended up with a generic compounded version of torb from diamondback drugs in Phoenix. You could call them and price compare. I found that acepromazine plus hycodan knocked Barney out. He had a very severe condition and he died of it a few weeks ago at 16. He wasn't bad until 14.5 and that's when he started to use medication although he was diagnosed at age 2. good luck!
