 How to get him to go - constipated!
My doggie has been ill - they suspected pancreatitis or just some viral stomach upset. He's been on antibiotics, tramadol and Pepcid since Monday. I've dialed it back with the tramadol only giving it once a day versus twice a day due to constipation. We had not too much food intake over the weekend and even less water (although vet gave him hydration). Finally got him to eat a little more with some boiled chicken and yesterday a little chicken baby food mixed in with his kibble. He had a very large bowel movement on Monday post vet (his reveal exam may have helped). He has since not had a bowel movement. I gave him pumpkin purée tonight with his meds - 2 tsps. He's an 11 pound 7 year old Yorkie. Any recommendations on getting him to go? When is it an issue had he hasn't had a bowel movement? I know the tramadol causes constipation. Prior to the medicine he was having very regular bowel movements. |
