I'm a quick-switcher w/ all 4 of mine as they've never had problems with switching btwn foods at all. Do you know if Romeo does fairly well w/ switches? In many cases, dogs will do fine w/ quick changes...but if you're at all hesitant, you may want to go slower.

Yup, there is a chance he will not like his kibble after this...that's always a risk. But really, who can blame them -- I too would probably prefer soft, moist, fresher food vs a dry food ! Not the end of the world if he ends up preferring it...
