You know how the saying goes "ya get what ya pay for". Reputable breeders invest money in their breeding pair, check back many generations to ensure there are no genetic issues that puppies will inherit, offer you a good heath guarantee, keep puppies until they are 13 weeks old. If I were looking to buy a puppy from reputable breeder in Trii-State area I would expect to pay $2000. to $2500. with a damm good health guarantee. NY area is very expensive. If a local breeder was recommended, see what she offers with her puppies as far a health guarantee ,some will give 1st puppy shot also. Asking ppl with yorkies in your area is a good way to go. Also I am not saying the more money you spend the better a yorkie you will get. The breeder must be researched before purchasing their pup. I would NOT buy a pup based on how much I could / want to spend. You could end up paying much more down the road in health issues. Just food for thought.
