Thanks for the replies. I'm going to pick up some baby food tomorrow morning to see how that goes. He ate some of the chicken after he went up to the bowl 3x and saw what it was. The rice on the other hand, he did not.
I took my little one to the vet nearly two weeks ago for a fever. No eat, drinking or pooping at the time. They gave him some hydration and he was good to go within 2 days. Less than a week later, he started acting funny. Didn't want to eat much or drink much, not interested in toys. He then started hiding in strange places and sleeping there too. I thought it wa his teeth.
I brought him back to the vet today and they don't suspect the teeth but rather severe belly pain. X-ray and complete blood work came back fine, nothing worrisome. They gave him an injection of bupresione(?) with hydration and anti nausea meds. They sent me home with antibiotics,Pepcid and some tramadol. He hasn't had much to drink since the vet visit and hasn't been peeing much either. I suspect he was quite dehydrated from not drinking much. The prior day.
He vomited 4 hours after the first dose of the antibiotics, but ate some chicken and rice thereafter. I gave him the second dose and some tramadol about 4 hours ago and so far so good. He starts shaking whenever I approach him and refuses to sleep in his normal space. He almost seems spooked. He darted toward his dog bowl as if I were going to take it away earlier which we never do. Just really really concerned something else is going on that they're missing. I don't like seeing my little buddy like this. He seems so so sad and I'm s little hesitant about all this medication. |
