Default Desperate - He pees everywhere!

About 4 months ago I adopted a 3 year old cute male yorkie. He wasn't really potty trained as I noticed he was marking up everything in our house. So I finally neutered him two weeks ago. I hoped this would stop his marking, but he has only been marking more this past week. I have tried to potty train him, but he seems stubborn and set in his ways. My wife is home with our 4 kids during the week and she cannot clean up after him AND take care of small kids. The kids love the dog.

What's the best way to stop this behavior in a 3 year old male? Should I use belly pads or diapers on him? Should I try click training? He seems to be a smart dog, but marking stuff seems to be very though to overcome.

Please help as I don't want to get rid of him. It will devastate my 6 year old.
