As others commented, the vet gives you the script to take to a pharmacy.
Max's muscle relaxer was the first med that we had to buy at a pharmacy, so being handed a script at the vet was something new to me. I was worried that meant it would be $$$. I was very pleasantly surprised when WalMart said $4.
