 Otherwise, accept you are looking at a mixed breed and you will probably find tons of adorable puppies at a shelter for much less.

Purebreds have an expected look. Mixed breeds are wildcards - you'll never know for sure what mixes you have in there and cannot expect any specific exact 'look'.  
If you're not looking for a purebred, then please adopt as there is enough abandoned mixed breds at the rescues, rather than supporting backyard breeders.
