Thanks, we will likely pick up the bag of food tonight and see what happens. Hopefully she doesn't react badly to it.

I am trying to have the urine tested but my husband has dug his heels in at the moment. It will be another $150 to run that test apparently and with our bill over $1000 already with no way to pay it off, he is against it. I am nowhere near ready to throw in the towel on spending money on her but there's not much I can do at this point because his parents have drilled into him over and over again that he is the one that makes the money so he is the one that decides how to spend it. I think that is bullcrap so I am trying to convince him.

I currently have a few messages out to people asking to borrow some money for the test but so far I keep getting "she's just a dog"...she's not just a dog!

I looked up PLN and it looks terrifying. And a lot of the symptoms seem to apply to her so now I am terrified she has it and we aren't doing anything about it. I know it appears there isn't much to do for it but at least her kidneys are functioning fine in her blood work so maybe we could slow things down if we knew.

I uderstand why vets have to charge but I hate it at the same time. I hate having to spend the obligatory $80 to be seen every time when it is regarding an ongoing issue. It frustrates me that we don't need to have her checked out, just her urine as a follow up test to this weekend but we will still have to pay the fee. I am just being whiny right now as I am frustrated and just want to know that she is okay or know that we need to make some changes for her.
