We are home! She's still kind of groggy and sleepy but the vet said the tramadol and the last few days away may make her really tired tonight.
We talked to the vet in depth about her blood pressure and we decided to bring her home without meds tonight and made a follow up for tomorrow (I guess Tuesday) appointment at 2:30am to have the blood pressure checked again. We decided on that time for a few reasons 1. Husband works until midnight during the week 2. The vet suggested a quitter time with less people and calmer and 3. The a/c in our car is broken and it is hot and humid here so night time means the sun won't be beating down on her and making her hot and stressed in the car. Once we get the number tomorrow we will decide about the meds.
We stayed on the canned food they were feeding her there. I was wrong, it wasn't I/D, it is Royal Canin gastro low fat and not chicken based. They said to keep her on wet food for a little until we know she is able to keep food down and is getting enough hydration. Good news is we came home and opened the can and she was spinning in circles and ate about 2tbsps happily and finally had a bowel movement! It wasn't green and was solid!
After she ate she got a little sleepy and just wanted to go to the bed so she's been out like a light since then. Trying to leave her alone so I set up a camera to film her. I'm paranoid she is going to throw up or something so I kept bugging her and figured filming her would satisfy my knowing what she has been doing but leave her alone to rest.
I am so glad she is home but still sad that she seems so off. But her wobbles aren't as bad and she's walking her normal way.
We are still going to follow up with her vet but want to have her blood pressure checked in a less stressful environment. If we lived closer, they do home visits to test in their normal environment. We will be asking our vet or a vet around us if they offer that option as well if she needs it checked regularly. She panics and pants and whines as soon as we are in a waiting room of a vet.
But right now I am happy they felt she was good enough to come home, has at least eaten once for me here and had a bowel movement. |
