Some advice my attorney gave me.
Take your time to think about your answer. Taking a deep breath or two will usually help. And keep your answers brief using yes or no as much as possible. If you are unsure of a response, you can take a break and consult your attorney. Your attorney should step in if they are bullying you or asking inappropriate questions.
