Is the gunk worse during certain times of the year? If yes, then it's probably allergy related and would likely be helped by treating those allergies. You also have to wonder whether there are any ingrown eyelashes or similar too.
As far as Angel Eyes, they took out the antibiotic (tylosin) about a year ago and since then people don't find it works as well, fyi. You could still try it though - it may be worth a try...
