In an effort to keep her from hurting herself after getting spayed, I spent half a day building the perfect couch-step for Piper--the step would alleviate need for her to jump up; it ran the length of couch; it was measured to her height and it was carpeted. Returning home from surgery, Pipe slept for hours and when she awoke I carefully lifted her off couch, carefully carried her outside, carefully carried her back up steps, carefully set her down so she could get a drink and then watched in horror (bit of an exaggeration) as Piper returned to living room, looked at couch, then step, then back at me and in the middle of me saying, "Wait, I'll help..." Piper stretched-out her freshly-sutured little belly and made the widest-highest leap everrr--which was, of course, necessary to clear that dang step. (After which, Piper was fine, no damage done; I, on the other hand...!!). Wishing you better luck keeping your baby girl quiet and still~~!
