My boys are in full coat and require weekly baths for essential hygiene, especially because they are active outdoors. We haven't had any problems with dry skin. Keeping the coat clean prevents hair breakage and reduces tangling. We use gentle shampoo formulated for dogs and rinse thoroughly, and finish with good conditioners.
Massage and combing help keep skin healthy. Cleansing also removes dead skin cells and helps with pests, like fleas and flea eggs.
