Have anxious yorkie poo...would anot her help? Hello!
We have a 9 year old yorkie poo (she's 75% yorkie and 25% poodle but she looks and acts like a full yorkie. )
She is the poster dog for high anxiety. Any small noise make her jump, shake or bark. She's not a fan of small children but is fine with most adults once she feels brave enough to meet them. She is great with friends and family she knows.
She is very attached to me. Is definitely more my dog than a family dog. She's super sweet and loves to snuggle. And gives lots of kisses!
She's *ok* with other dogs sometimes. Totally depends on the dog. She is tolerant to an extent but if the other dog is demanding and more dominant, she'll snap and growl at them. Yet, if she (Casey, our yorkie poo) instigates play, she's better.
We are considering getting a cockapoo puppy. For a few years now, I have wondered if getting a puppy would be good for Casey and her anxiety. She doesn't have separation anxiety...just general nervous anxiety.
What are you all's thoughts??? Would another dog be too much for her or do you think it would make her even more anxious and nervous?
Feel free to ask me anything! I need advice! Thanks!!! |
