I never had George in a crate (well for about 30 minutes the night I brought him home) so I don't think I am good to answer the spoiled question, but I do have a little insight
George was 10 weeks when he came home with me, and for about the first 2 months he was next to me every second, I work from home so I could spend a lot of time with him. Now he is 10 months and he is little Mr. Independent I have to call him at times to come to me because he wanders around the house or goes and lays down on his big sisters bed when he is tired. I think it's all apart of the bonding process you are her new Mommy now, she will get used to it and go off on her own soon.
