To answer both of you, i never met the breeder. I met Heather and spoke to breeder on the phone.
Chewie uses her paws as hands. She hugs and grips.. searches and generally is very "handsy" with them. I don't think it's a bit gross. Next puppy we get will have her full tail and dew claws. I am of the mind that things need to stay intact, and follow this with any species. Cats, humans, dogs.. pretty much any species.
