I wish we could post two pictures side by side (both AKC registered)

A 2 pound, 5-year-old, black and tan, floppy-eared, little Yorkie with a puppy cut...

Next to a 14-pound, 5-year-old, tan and sliver, erect-eared Yorkie with hair flowing to the ground.
Let's make one of them a babydoll face and one a more standard looking version just to keep it amusing.

While it certainly is interesting I can understand why there is a Standard and why most experienced reputable breeders strive to meet the Standard. Size will vary, even when you aim for the perfect specimen, but everything else from hair cut to poor breeding makes it difficult to spot a Yorkie.

Only time I ever saw Yorkies that looked alike was at a dog show! No mistaking those guys.
