Dear ATXQueenB...first off, how is Wyski today? Hard for you to know exactly unless, you take him to a good vet so, please do that for him ASAP banging his head constantly and recently you said quite hard, could have implications on him that as a Mom you should want to prevent.
If Wyski is running into walls with a leash on first, take him and your other dog outside to rumble and play off leash, like the wild dogs they truly are and deserve to be...
Lastly, listen to your Motherly instinct: take his temperature if your inner instinct is leading you to, even if you say Wyski wasn't feeling well and you didn't want to bother him, LISTEN TO YOUR GOD GIVEN MOTHERLY INSTINCT you were given that for situations like the one your in so, honour it and take proactive measures today with Wyski.
Lastly, you need to replace what Wyski is chewing on, you mention your wood doors, with better alternatives for example, chew sticks and other toys. Next tine he starts chewing on a door pick him up and go into another area and give him a chew stick and engage with him ie. hold the chew stick at one end and let him chew the other end and as he's doing that slowly let go and allow him to master chewing on it by himself.
Remember it's your responsibility to correct poor behavior and to provide healthy alternatives and never wait to see how your dog is when they hit there head hard he could have a concussion. Make sure your vet provides you with solutions that are proactive if not, get a new vet. But always trust your Motherly instincts and follow them.
We would all love to hear a follow-up from you as to what you have done for Wyski and how he is. Provide Wyski with alternatives as I've mentioned as well as the other YTer's Moms we all wish Wyski more fun without head hitting andyou can correct this but time is of the essence before beforesomething serious happens to him. Good luck!
