We used to have one of those bookstores. It was run by a man by the name Bootsie Goldstein....he was about 100 yrs old....he'd offer his "wares"...city would shut him down.....over and over again. He was a legend.
Side note....when baby brother went away to college...there apparently was a....hmmmmm, bookstore offering naughty movies...he copied thousands of those things. I told my mother he was planning on taking Bootsie's place
On the anniversary of Bootsie's death, someone (loyal customer perhaps) runs an ad with his picture and the caption...Bootsie, father of freedom of speech
